Traditional Crafts and Artisan Meet & Expo<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 The 6th<\/sup> edition of India International Science Festival (IISF-2020)<\/strong> is being organised by Ministry of Science & Technology, Ministry of Earth Sciences and Ministry of Health & Family Welfare in association with Vijnana Bharati (VIBHA) during 22-25 December, 2020 at New Delhi in virtual mode. CSIR is the coordinating Organization for IISF-2020 and CSIR-NISTADS, New Delhi \u00a0is the nodal laboratory to hold the event.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0CSIR-Advanced Materials and Processes Research Institute (AMPRI), Bhopal has been assigned as Principal Organizing Institution for the event \u2018Traditional Crafts and Artisan Meet & Expo\u2019. The event will be a National level Virtual Meet \/ Conference and Expo which shall be taken up under the leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Avanish Kumar Srivastava, Director, CSIR-AMPRI Bhopal. The event shall emphasise science behind the traditional Indian Art and Crafts, their history, technological and policy interventions to improve the quality of handicrafts and the life of the artisans, future prospects etc. It will consist of two parts (i) Meet-which will feature talk\/lectures, panel discussion, hands-on demonstration and (ii) Expo-which will have live streaming and demonstration for extraction and processing of natural fibre and yarn, archeo-metallurgical tools & applications for benefit of artisans, and various traditional handicrafts. It will bring together traditional craftsmen and artisans, researchers and scientists, entrepreneurs, cottage industries, Self Help Groups, policymakers, students to discuss on the improvement in traditional crafts to make it globally competitive for augmenting Atma Nirbharta (Self-Sufficiency) under Atma Nirbhar Bharat Programme of Govt. of India.<\/span><\/p>\n
